Vehicles in Germany's City Found Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Roughly 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.

Police say they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Officers then located many other smeared vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement say preliminary tests suggest the fluid was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not aware of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials announced they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for tips.

An important representative stated the incident made him speechless and had to be resolved quickly.

"This act hits the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
