Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to water systems, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has escalated strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and applying sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks come after nights of air raids in the area, portions of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
